Our next meeting will be on the evening of Monday, 19 February 2024. This will be a (hopefully) brief AGM followed by Philip Cousins who will be showing us photographs of Chesterfield in the 1980s. Everyone is welcome to attend.
In the meantime here’s one of the images he’ll be showing – a view of the New Beetwell Street Bus Station (now the coach station) just after the royal visit of November 1981. The then empty Chesterfield Police Station is in the background. Remember those days when buses were green and there was lots of town centre shopping?
Our meeting venue is St Thomas Church Centre, Chatsworth Road. Admission is free for members and for visitors the charge is £3. Free parking is available on site or on neighbouring streets.
Doors normally open from around 7pm for a 7.30pm start and there is an opportunity to obtain light refreshments before and after our presentation (50p per cup of tea or coffee).
