On Monday April 20th Danielle Burton will be presenting ‘Treating the Soldiers of the Crimean War’. This talk will particularly look at Mary Seacole, Betsy Cadwaladr and Florence Nightingale, who went to nurse injured soldiers in the Crimean War, despite prejudice.
Danielle has a First in History from the University of Derby and an MA in Public History and Heritage. She recently published her first history book – a biography on Anthony Woodville, brother-in-law of Edward IV,

We are at our new venue – The Olde House, Loundsley Green Road, Newbold, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, S40 4RN. You will find us in the Large Function Room. We start at 7:30 pm, with doors opening around 7 pm. Refreshments can be obtained at the main bar, situated within The Olde House bar area.
Admission is free for members and for visitors the charge is £3. Students under 22 in full-time education are also free. Free parking is available on site.
